Our Board’s Role

Members of the Board of Directors are responsible for ensuring that the STEM Paths Innovation Network (SPIN) achieves its mission and advances its impact. They guide SPIN’s strategic direction, monitor organizational operations, provide essential resources, and assess overall performance. The Board works in close collaboration with SPIN’s Executive Directors, who manage day-to-day operations and implement the organization’s initiatives. In fulfilling their roles, Board members carry fiduciary responsibilities, making decisions that protect SPIN’s financial health and support the long-term sustainability of its programs.

Board Member Job Description

We are seeking board members with experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Administration & Management – guiding organizational strategy and operations

  • Non-Profit Board Experience – understanding governance and fiduciary responsibilities

  • Marketing & Public Relations – promoting the organization and its mission

  • Fundraising – supporting resource development and donor engagement

  • Human Resources – overseeing staff development and organizational culture

  • Community Engagement – understanding and addressing the needs of the communities we serve
