The Lab @ SPIN - Our Newest Program

The LAB @ SPIN is a creative maker-space that empowers young innovators to design, build, and explore through hands-on making. Equipped with 3D printers, a Glowforge 3D laser cutter, sewing and embroidery machines, and a Cricut, the space supports projects that blend art, engineering, and technology. It’s a collaborative environment where curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving come to life through workshops, open labs, and community partnerships.

OUR Vision

Our goal is to spark creativity and innovation, inspire hands-on learning, and build STEM skills while encouraging teamwork and collaboration. Participants gain access to a wide range of tools and resources to explore their ideas.

Open to all ages, The LAB @ SPIN runs throughout the year, usually on Saturday mornings, with plans to expand into afterschool programs in the future.

Interested in sharing your talents with us?

We are always looking for creatives and makers to teach classes to young people!

SPIN is looking for several Makerspace Instructors to bring their unique maker skills and interests to our LAB makerspace. You don’t need to be an expert in every tool—we value instructors who are excited to share what they know, and who are open to learning alongside students and staff. Whether your strengths are in laser cutting, 3D printing, sewing, embroidery, coding, or another area of making, we want to hear from you.

As a Makerspace Instructor, you’ll lead engaging, hands-on STEAM programming for students and community members using our diverse tools and technologies. The goal of this role is to empower students with 21st-century skills, encouraging them to explore, build, and innovate through guided learning and creative experimentation.
